Your sense of self isn’t a static image, bro. It’s more like a climate or a biome. Both of which can shift in gradual ways over time or suddenly due to internal or external factors. Just check the weather report, man. Don’t try to force the sky to stay blue without clouds 24/7.
the like. “prime directive” wrt to calling people eggs is such like. idk its pussy shit. if i jokingly say “lol you should become a girl about it” or some shit when you do or say something gay and girly and you take it to heart or whatever honestly that is a you problem. that’s your fragility, not my irresponsibility or whatever. become a fucking girl about it if it upsets you so bad. the notion that trannies have some like, responsibility not to “convince people they might be trans” or something is categorically absurd - its a reversal of the burden of responsibility. maybe the world should stop trying so hard to convince people to be cis. cisness is not some natural a priori state of existence, it’s just the path of least resistance for most people in a world that stigmatizes being trans. i have 0 responsibility to respect the fragility of gendered constructs built up in your head.
“Isn’t it weird that [thing humans commonly eat] is poisonous to literally every domesticated animal” I mean, there’s a pretty good chance that [thing humans commonly eat] is at least mildly poisonous to humans, too. One of our quirks as a species is that we think our food is bland if it doesn’t have enough poison in it.
Three points from this article I really want people to take away from it:
1.
“There often comes a pivotal point during radicalization when a person first faces the consequences of their extremism when they have to decide whether to make amends and reintegrate themselves into their communities or to double down, retreating further and further into a self-reinforcing universe of alternate facts and realities.”
2.
“The “concerned parent” trope in news articles has emerged as one of the most pernicious forms of American anti-trans propaganda, according to Dr. Julia Serano, the famed trans writer and biologist.
“These pieces strike trans-unaware audiences as ‘fair and balanced’ because they seem to show ‘all sides’ of the story,” Serano wrote recently in a piece about how even mainstream publications like The New York Times and The Atlantic have frequently elevated the voices of non-affirming parents while obscuring those parents’ ties to extremist anti-trans organizations.
“These articles make it seem as though these parents simply want what’s best for their child,” Serrano wrote, “when in actuality these parents are heavily invested in disaffirming and suppressing their child’s trans identity.”
3.
“If there’s adults in your life or if there’s people in your life or friends or whoever the fuck that you love, that you’re worried about losing over this, and if you’re like… ‘if I come out this person might abandon me,’ that’s their decision that they’re making,” Renton says. “That is 100% not on you. It doesn’t mean you’re fucking bad. It doesn’t mean you’re wrong. It doesn’t mean there’s something broken with you. That is someone else being fucked up.”
“Ultimately, community will find you, and you will find community, whether it feels impossible or not,” he says.
everyone’s like wehhhhh why doesn’t doctor house gets suuuueeed! like my man. literally every patient he sees is someone that’s been trying to find a diagnosis for ages. i could live with a little medical malpractice if it were coming from someone ready to break into my home to look for allergens and not simply half heartedly listen to me before suggesting I lose weight and take ages of back and forth arguing to order a single test
“it’s medical malpractice” have u ever been a doctor? most medicine is malpractice. let the man limp around chewing vicodin doing 50 invasive tests please
Once Taub (derogatory) derisively said about a patient with unexplained chronic pain “7 doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with him, what does that mean?” and House replied without even thinking “it means they’re idiots” and proceed to work his ass off to diagnose the patient Taub wanted to write off as a faker or something. If a doctor had said that when that patient was ME, I wouldn’t dream of suing them in a million years
sad news today. Beeftongue, slug beloved, is no more. it lived just over a year, a good long time for a Florida leatherleaf, and tasted dozens of lettuces and other delicious vegetation beyond any slug’s dreams. found under a fallen stop sign in Miami, I was honored to share some time with this awesome beast.
farewell, Beef.
Beeftongue is survived by Bupkis, who continues to stubbornly exist despite being over 2, and all of its brood
This is so real. Conservatives act like theyd rather have GNC people be cis than transition but the reality is that they don’t want cisgender GNC people to exist either. The gender binary as it exists today doesn’t allow any middle ground between complete gender conformity and getting discriminated against. Tomboys just barely get to exist (but not without resistance) but any slightly GNC man will make the average conservative furious beyond belief.
The ultracatholics on this website aren’t actually trying to “debate” you. They think they are trying to save you.
What is actually happening, is they’re saying inflammatory things that get strong negative reactions from readers. People yell at them in response. This generates a feeling of being attacked, so they can continue to see themselves as an underdog.
This entire dynamic can be shortcutted by simply blocking them and moving on with your life.
